The Story of Social Canvas

Hi there, I’m so glad that you’re interested in learning more about Social Canvas. We are a digital marketing + communications agency specializing in small businesses in creative industries, and organizations driven by purpose. We employ social strategies to help you define your brand’s message, boost your social media presence, get more website traffic, and ultimately convert your audience into customers! This blog post is just the first of many to come. We have so many ideas we want to share with you, so stay tuned by following us on social media; but first, an introduction! 

My name is Brooke, and I’m the founder of Social Canvas. I grew up in Dallas, TX, and went to college at the School of Visual Arts in New York, where I majored in Visual and Critical Studies. I worked in a variety of sectors of the art world in search of my purpose, but ultimately realized a deeply rooted desire to create my dream job as an entrepreneur. I desperately wanted to focus on showcasing the incredible art which inspired me. In all of my roles, I was responsible for digital marketing, but always as a side note, never a focus. I knew that my strength was in the intersection of verbal and visual communication, and that by focusing solely on these skills I would accomplish so much more.  

In order to capitalize on the exposure that the internet offers, we must now be vigilant in our efforts to stay informed on the inner-workings of its complex, and constantly evolving platforms.

I saw an opportunity in the fact that many companies were adding their digital marketing needs on to their assistants’ to-do lists, rather than hiring experienced professionals in the digital marketing field. And while this may seem fine—content gets posted and people see it—it’s not the most effective strategy for growth or conversions, and it won’t get the best results. The digital marketing game is always changing, and what it used to take to become recognized as an industry leader is no longer sufficient. In order to capitalize on the exposure that the internet offers, we must now be vigilant in our efforts to stay informed on the inner-workings of its complex, and constantly evolving platforms. 

With this in mind, I set out on my journey to help business owners share their messages. By refining messaging, branding, and crafting a comprehensive digital marketing strategy, I work (tirelessly, I might add!) to help brands get the visibility they deserve so that they can establish their reputation as an expert in their field, establish brand awareness, and ultimately drive sales

This is why, at Social Canvas, we are persistent in employing CREATIVE strategies across a variety of platforms to deliver tangible results. Then, we go one step further to provide detailed analytics, showcasing the metrics that actually matter (and debunking any myths they might have about vanity metrics).

I’ve spent the past year and a half working behind the scenes - assembling my dream-team while delivering strong results for our clients, and preparing to share Social Canvas with the world. Project by project we have learned so much about ourselves and about our brand, and we can’t wait to show you all what we’re made of!
